WALCYNG

WALCYNG is a research project in the Programme Package Urban transport, DG VII Transport RTD Programme in EU's Fourth Framework Programme. It aimed at finding strategies to encourage walking and cycling as alternatives to short car trips and improve traffic safety at the same time.

The project was co-ordinated by the Department of Traffic Planning and Engineering by Professor Christer Hydén and Annika Nilsson. The WALCYNG consortium consisted of researchers from eight countries.

WALCYNG started the 1st of March 1996 and was formally ended by the 31st of August 1997. There are thirteen available reports from WALCYNG
