
The Competence Center "Traffic Environment for Older och Disabled People" is led by Professor Agneta Ståhl and pursues research in the field of traffic planning, with focus on the needs of older people and people with disabilities. The research comprises the outdoor environment/pedestrian environment, public transport, special transportation services, and car traffic. It is intended to increase safety and accessibility/usability in traffic and in society for older and disabled people, with increased mobility, activity and participation as the ultimate goal.
The Competence Center is a part of CASE (Centre for Ageing and Supportive Environments), an interdisciplinary centre of excellence with funding from FAS and involving research teams from the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, and Social Sciences.
